What not to wear in a job interview
WHAT NOT TO WEAR IN A JOB INTERVIEW
I write this article to address the things one must avoid in the job interview (not connected with dress code, these are universal rules).
Women must avoid ‘pull pull’ clothes, too revealing necklines, shorts and short skirts or tight items.
It´s nice to look feminine but you want the attention to be focused in your skills and not in your physical attributes.
OLD-FASHIONED & OUT OF SEASON CLOTHES
Do not wear old clothing, tired of being in the wardrobe for ages (clothes and shoes).
You do not wish that the interviewer think that you can´t get a job for 20 years now.
The interview look must reflect an updated candidate.
If necessary, buy new items, think positive, because the good impression at the interview may be worth a lot of new clothes.
Yes, to avoid sweat is correct. Use deodorant, but restrain as perfume is concerned, avoid too strong fragrances.
It´s very unpleasant to greet someone and leave your perfume impregnated.
TOO MUCH ACCESSORIES
Less is more when we talk about accessories.
Men can use: watch, wedding ring and a pocket handkerchief.
Women can use: watch, wedding ring, classic and simple earrings (like pearls), necklaces (statement, com strong colours and shapes) as long as a conventional look is presented.
Make-up: Think of a fresh and fine look. No dark eye shadows, the foundation must be the same colour of your skin.
Hey…do not go without make up on.
Lips: Nude lipstick or just gloss.
Well done manicure (to men also), choose light or neutral polish.
Beard: Men must shave it.
Hair: Women should choose hair up style (so it doesn´t cover the face). Men must wear short, smart cut hair.
Teeth: Wash your teeth properly and use a breath spray before you go in.
Avoid strong prints, blouses or sweaters with images, art with slogans, jokes or obsceneties.
I wish you a happy and smooth life!
And a great interview!
